qtunbale2 {same arguments and options}

qtunbale downloads data from a Quanterra baler for the Q330; the user specifies the http address or hostname or ip address for the baler, and optionally a time range. The time range may be either a start time and an endtime, or a start time and a time period. If no time range is provided, the entire contents of the baler are downloaded.

qtunbale2 is an alternative approach which uses wget instead of the perl http interface.

Because balers are often sleeping, qtunbale always pings the baler, and waits for a response before beginning to download data. (The baler takes about 15 seconds to wake up after the attention button on its front panel is pressed).

Typically as data is downloaded, it is fed to miniseed2days(1) to sort the variety of data blocks inside the volume into individual channel day volumes. The resulting filenames are dictated by the -w option passed to miniseed2days, or otherwise by the miniseed2days parameter file.

OPTIONS

-a
Just print the range of data available on the baler, and quit.
-d db
Pass database name to miniseed2days; after data is downloaded, miniseed2days runs miniseed2db on the files which it downloaded, creating a CSS3.0 wfdisc file.
-f max-fragment
By default, qtunbale asks for the data in day sized chunks. An alternative time in seconds may be specified to get smaller or larger volumes. This might be useful for poor connections.
-r
raw output: instead of running miniseed2days or miniseed2orb, write raw output to day files. These day files are named with a pattern like: subdir/2006/174/QT-0889_2006-06-23-19_52_30.
-S subdir
raw output files can optionally be placed in a subdirectory subdir.
-o orb
pipe the data to an orb using miniseed2orb(1).
-Q
Don't ping baler; useful when network connection doesn't allow pings.
-q
shut up the waiting messages during pings.
-t timeout
qtunbale waits some length of time for a ping response from the baler. The default is two minutes, but it can be set to an arbitrary number of seconds. If set to zero, it will wait forever.
-c chan
Select the channels to download using Quanterra patterns to match loc code and channel code. Specify one of

1) a 3 character channel code
2) a 2 character loc code
3) loc and channel combination, like this: X1-BHZ
4) a blank separated list of option #3.

In any of these options, use '?' to represent a single character wildcard.
-u
Show all the URL's used.
-v
more verbosity
-V
turn on -v flag in miniseed2days or miniseed2orb; also show when memory usage changes.
-w wfname
specify a waveform pattern for miniseed2days

BUGS AND CAVEATS

When the -d option is used to create a database, miniseed2db(1) is run against all the downloaded files. However, it's possible that data was only appended to some existing miniseed volumes, which are already represented in the database. In this case, miniseed2days creates overlapping wfdisc records.

When using the -v option (to get an ascii progress bar), occasionally the bar may be interrupted with other output from miniseed2days or miniseed2orb.

The verbose option may need some tuning.
