dbloc_map - draw map showing location and associated arrivals
dbloc_map [-d overlay,...] [-e evid] [-o orid] [-p pf] database.table [orid]
dbloc_map generates the maps displayed by dbloc2(1), which show
the various locations for an event and the associated arrivals
for a particular origin.
This new version incorporates the idea of an overlay database table (originated by
Niko Horn) which might be used to show quarry locations or other data.
When the left mouse button is pressed on an origin, a balloon pops up, showing some parameters for the origin record,
and any magnitudes for that origin (from netmag).
-
-d overlay,...
Specify names of overlays to display in addition to the arrival stations and origins.
These overlays are specified in either the dbloc_map.pf parameter file, or in the dbloc2.pf
parameter file.
-
-e evid
Show all the origins and arrival stations for a particular evid.
-
-o orid
Show the specified origin and associated arrival stations.
-
-p pf
Specify an alternate parmameter file
The parameter file allows modifying the color scheme somewhat, but is not
really comprehensive.
-
water_color
Specify the color of lakes and oceans on the maps
The following describe the origins selected on the command line with the -e or -o options.
-
origin_symbol
symbol used: point, cross, x, triangle, square, circle, star, or diamond
-
origin_color
color
-
origin_size
size in pixels
This set describes other origins, placed on the map for reference:
-
other_origin_symbol
symbol used: point, cross, x, triangle, square, circle, star, or diamond
-
other_origin_color
color
-
other_origin_size
size in pixels
These parameters describe the sites displayed; sites which are associated with the selected origins (through
the assoc and arrival table) are displayed filled. Unassociated sites are outlines only.
-
site_symbol
symbol used: point, cross, x, triangle, square, circle, star, or diamond
-
site_color
color
-
site_size
size in pixels
-
overlays
Overlays is a list of database tables which can optionally be displayed on the map.
Each such table must have the lat and lon fields, and may optionally have a label field.
overlays &Arr{
#name database-table color symbol size label-field
}
-
balloon_linger_seconds
This is how long the origin balloon will appear after a mouse press.
-
origin
This is a list of the fields to display from the origin table in the balloon. A field may optionally have
a name and an expression, separated by ::; this allows printing time in a readable format, but might be
used for other purposes as well.
